Sensor fusion refers to the combination of data from multiple sensors. For example, during activity recognition we might use a camera combined with movement and temperature sensors. The sensors may provide different kinds of information, allowing inferences that would be impossible for either alne. Alternatively, sensor fusion might combines several sensors measuring the same thing (sensor redundancy), leading to better overall sensor accuracy.
